AAA Thursday: Mario & Luigi - Brothership

Updated: Nov 20

Well there wont be much in the way of AAA titles being covered on these blogs. Our main objective is to highlight the indie artist. But as fun as indie games are there is an entire world of AAA titles and some of them are even good. So every Thursday I wanted to write a little something highlighting a game I feel deserves some recognition.

This week I'll be highlighting Mario & Luigi: Brothership. The Mario series holds a special place in the hearts of many gamers. I for one started gaming by playing games like Super Mario, Super Mario 64, Mario Party and MarioKart 64. Those games were the foundation for many gamers of that era and even still today. So it warms my heart to see this title continuing to produce top tier content, and Mario & Luigi: Brothership doesn't look like it will disappoint.

Set sail and plot a course aboard the part ship part island, Shipshape Island in Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood as you seek islands, reefs and tiny islets to explore. Then fire yourself from the Shipshape's cannon and find mysteries throughout the tropical rainforest and bustling cities alike! Fight the enemy, solve puzzles and explore the local environment as you attempt to reconnect the splintered world of Concordia.

The battle system is similar to most recent Mario games allowing you to use advanced jump and hammer combos. All battles are initiated in the overworld and revolve around dodging attacking and countering with explosive combos (Bros) of your own. The damage dealt is measure by how well you performed your Bros, but be mindful of your enemy! Some enemies are immune to certain attacks so be prepared with a wide array of Bros to end the threat of any opposition.

The game seems exciting and very interactive. If you have a Switch, which is the only platform this game is releasing on. I would highly recommend this game. The graphic are amazing, the content is lengthy(ish) and the charm... well that just never ends. Look for Mario & Luigi: Brothership releasing on 11-07-2024 and batten down the hatches as you set sail for yet another wonderful Mario & Luigi adventure!
